About · The firm and the operator behind it

A small firm that stays inside the work, for clients navigating critical moments.

The Firm

Ficus Advisors is an advisory firm built for the inflection points where companies need to adapt to change fast: first-time institutional capital, post-merger integration, and periods of significant growth.

We specialize in moments when the complexity of what’s being asked of an organization outpaces its current capacity to respond. Our focus is organizational readiness – we assess where a company is, identify the gap between current state and where the value creation plan requires it to be, and build a clear path to close it.

Morgan leads every engagement. A bench of specialists is brought in, as needed, according to the specific shape of the problem. We are operators, not analysts – without the overhead of a large firm. Clients get senior-level attention throughout.

By design, Ficus Advisors works with a small number of clients at a time. Selectivity is part of the model, not a marketing posture.

The name

Why Ficus.

A ficus tree is one that, given the right conditions, is able to outgrow whatever container it’s placed in. Roots always find the cracks, and the canopy has the potential to reach past the planter. What looked like an end-state turns out to have been a temporary one.

The companies we work with are at the same point. The structure that served them well yesterday is the constraint they have to grow through today.

Core values

Core to Us.

The way we work is as deliberate as the work itself.

01

Human-
Centered

Organizations are made of people. Strategy that doesn’t account for the humans carrying it out will stall. We keep people – their capacity, their trust, their growth – at the center of every engagement.

02

Curiosity Before Conclusions

We lead with questions first, not answers. Understanding the real problem and the people behind it comes before prescribing any solution. What’s true at the start of an engagement evolves, and we stay curious enough to change course when the picture does.

03

Radical
Candor

We tell clients what they need to hear, not what they want to hear. We challenge directly and care personally. We don’t make recommendations designed to make ourselves look good, and we don’t avoid hard conversations because they’re uncomfortable.

04

Continuous Growth

The companies we work with are capable of more than their current infrastructure allows. So are their people. Expanding that capacity, organizationally and individually, is at the core of everything we do.

The operator

She has been on both sides of the transaction.

What separates Ficus Advisors from a generalist consultancy is not a framework. It is that the person running the work has been on both the advisory and operating side. She’s done the work with the same constraints, pace, and pressures her clients are now facing.

M&A Advisory

Harris Williams & Co. · Director of Strategy

Spent twelve years advising on M&A transactions across multiple industries and ultimately sitting on the firm’s Executive Committee, leading its strategy function. Developed a pattern recognition that a financial transaction alone rarely created value – the leadership team and operating condition of the business almost always determined the outcome.

Operator

COLAB · CEO

Joined with the mandate to lead the business through a period of significant growth. Tripled average deal size by revising the go-to-market strategy; scaled the team by hiring into gaps that the prior stage had outgrown; reduced customer concentration and advanced a recurring-revenue model, shifting the company into more durable economics. Earned multiple Inc. 5000 rankings, reflecting sustained, recognized growth across consecutive years. Earned multiple Best Places to Work recognitions, reflecting the employment engagement and energized culture developed under her tenure.

Advisory

Ficus Advisors · Founder & Principal

Founded Ficus Advisors to bring both sides of the table into the room – the pattern recognition of twelve years in M&A advisory and the operational credibility of eight years running and scaling a business. She works with a small number of clients at a time to build organizational readiness – expanding the capacity of the organization’s people, processes, and operating system to absorb the next stage faster than growth erodes it.

Morgan brings the same perspective to the stage — if you’re looking for a speaker on organizational readiness, leadership through change, or what PE-backed growth actually requires, see her current topics.
